In the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Apostle Abraham, a senior pastor of a new generation church (name withheld), is cooling off in police custody after allegedly defrauding one of his members out of N18 million (eighteen million naira).

Our reliable source claims that the pastor, whose last name is being withheld, is being questioned and the matter is being looked into at the Delta State Police Command in Asaba. The pastor is allegedly accused of defrauding Mr. Goodluck, a member of his church, out of N18 million under the false pretense that he was purchasing a plot of land for him.

According to Vanguard source, “It was learned that in 2023, Mr Goodluck transferred the money to the pastor’s account for him to purchase land for him.

“Bro Goodluck, after waiting for over a long period of time without hearing or seeing the land from the pastor, he quietly demanded for his N18million from him.

“Severally, the man approach the pastor to refund his money, but he kept saying I will pay until the matter got out of control.

“His failure to refund the money to Goodluck as promised resulted to his arrest and he has been transferred to Asaba for further investigation.”

Contacted, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe was yet to respond to text messages. Meantime, as at the time of filing this report, the church building is under key lock when Vanguard visited the premises.
