Gov Idris Donates Building To Online TV, KGTV
Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has donated a building to a private online television known as ‘Kauran Gwandu Television’, KGTV, based in Birnin Kebbi.
The proprietor and the CEO of the television, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar (Yau Lele), announced the good gesture on Sunday at the presentation of certificates to 10 youths who acquired skills on online media production.
He was immensely appreciative to Governor Nasir Idris for the donation which would serve as production studio for the smooth operation of the online outfit.
Yau lele remarked that the unwavering support he received from Governor Nasir Idris gingered him to start from scratch to the present level on online TV as well as provide training to youths to reinforce and broaden services of the station.
” I have no words to thank Governor Nasir Idris for the marvelous donation of a studio to carry out our activities.
“On many occasions, the governor has supported me morally and financially, this is because of my effort in propagating the programmes and activities of the government.
” I also want to seize this opportunity to thank the following personalities for their uncountable assistance for the smooth running of KGTV.
“They include the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarkin, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, the wife of the Governor ,Hajiya Zainab Nasare, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku, Accountant General of the State, Alhaji Abubakar Dutsin Mari, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
“‘ Others are the Secretary to the State Government, SSG,Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Alhaji Aminu Danko P.A, Ahaji Shehu Idris ,Alhaji Umar Idris, Alh. Kabiru Sani Giant, Special Adviser on Power and Political Affairs, Hon. Altine Umar Dan fari Suru, Alh.Aliyu M.Guruza and Hon. Yakubu Ahmed, Commissioner for Information and Culture, ” he said.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki lauded the kind donation by the Governor, acknowledging that the building would serve as the operating studio of the online television.
He said it was the first time in the history of Kebbi State that a serving Governor donated a studio to a private online TV station aimed at complementing the efforts of government-owned media houses in propagating the activities of the state government.
Sarki was also happy that Governor Nasir Idris has provided a conducive environment to journalists in the state to operate freely devoid of subjectiveness.
“I can assure that the governor will continue to support the establishment of private TV and Radio stations in the state, provide welfare to journalists and make information accessible to them”, he assured.
The Special Adviser called on well- to- do individuals and politicians in the society to emulate the Governor by supporting journalists who are the watchdogs of the society.
He congratulated the online TV graduands, urging them to be patriotic in the discharge of their duties and shun negative or false information inimical to the wellbeing of the society.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris also congratulated the proprietor of KGTV, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar as well as the graduands and offered prayers for the progress of the station.
Earlier , Alhaji Shehu Idris , younger brother to the Governor, commended the effort of Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Yau Lele for establishing the private TV station in the state.
He promised to continue to support the online station whenever the need arose.
Alhaji Shehu Idris was represented at the event by Alhaji Atiku Shehu.
Certificates were presented to the graduands trained by Yau lele Digital Enterprise who have successfully acquired skills in Photography, Videography Reporting, Graphics Design and Software Engineering .
