Kebbi Gov Donates 20 Million Naira To Argungu Market Fire Victims

Kebbi State Government has donated Twenty Million Naira cash to victims of Argungu Central Market fire outbreak.

Gov. Nasir Idris ordered the immediate disbursement of monetary relief assistance to the victims to mitigate their suffering and enable them to restart business franchise.

The State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida who represented the Governor flagged off the disbursement excercise at the Emir of Argungu’s Palace during which two traders ,Tijjani Badukku and Abubakar Gwazange received Nine Hundred Thousand Naira each from the Government.

The deputy Governor who earlier visited the scene of the fire incident to sympathise with the fire victims, said the disbursement was sequel to the directive of Governor Nasir Idris.

In a remark, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera represented by the Kundudan Kabi ,Alhaji Ibrahim Kwaido thanked Gov. Nasir Idris for his benevolence and compassion, acknowledging the developmental strides of the Governor in improving the quality of life of the people in Argungu Emirate.

The Chairman, Market Traders Association, Argungu Local Government, Alhaji Labbo Fakon Sarki, expressed immense appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris, the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida and the Emir of Argungu for putting smiles on the faces of the victims.

Speaking to newsmen at the venue, the Chairman, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Hon. Bello Yakubu Rilisco, said the disbursement of the cash donation was in line with the welfarist policy of Governor Nasir Idris to provide succour to the people of the state under any circumstance.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously to restart profitable business ventures.

Among top personalities at the event, were the National Organising Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, Jarman Kabi, and the Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Alhaji Sama’ila Yakubu Augie.
