Gov. Idris Lauds HYPADEC For Constructing 75 Resettlement Housing Units
The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has commended Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq-Yelwa, the Managing Director, HYPADEC for the construction of 75 units of semi-detached two-bedroom flats at Bagudo Local Government Area.
The project is being constructed under HYPPADEC Resettlement Housing Scheme.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony held at Fadama in Bagudo local government, the governor said the gesture would certainly go a long way in assisting the benefiting communities.
He promised to give HYPADEC the needed assistance and support to actualise what he described as a noble objective.
Gov. Idris stressed the need for elites, all elected and appointed officials to always remember their communities especially with meaningful projects that would touch their lives.
The governor encouraged indiginous contractors to be supportive to his administration, adding that his government was ready to reciprocate by extending sililar support to such contractor(s).
He described the Managing Director of HYPPADEC as a good and responsible man, who always remembers his people wherever he found himself.
Earlier, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq-Yelwa, the HYPPADEC MD, commended Gov. Idris for bringing succour to the suffering of Kebbi people, in addition to fostering unity amongst them.
He explained that the housing units were meant to support the people of the state, especially those living in riverine areas.
The MD said, of the 75 houses, 30 would be constructed at Ganten Fadama in Bagudo local government, 25 at Tudun Faila in Shanga local government, while 20 in Suru local government area of the state.
“We have done a lot to the communities affected by floods and fire outbreaks. We have also trained many youths in different skills towards ameliorating the suffering of the people,” he said.
