Gov Agbu's Educational Revolution In Taraba State, The Gains

Following the torrid time and the low level of education in most northern states in Nigeria, the Taraba State governor Agbu Kefas had proven once again that happy days have come again to the people of the state.

His revolution in the educational sector seemed to be a game changer which is yielding fruits at the moment.

At the inception of the present fuel subsidy regime introduced by the present administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governor quickly introduced free education to all students from primary to secondary school level in the State.

He further said that schools in the state (primary and secondary schools) will be renovated to meet high quality standards obtained in other parts of the country.

But such revolution did not end with the primary and secondary schools alone, even the state owned University get a bite of his largesse, as the amiable governor reduced the fees paid by students in the tertiary institution by over 50 percent which is commendable.

Now the morals in what Governor Agbu has demonstrated is that the have nots can also achieve their life ambitions of been educated if they want.

Stakeholders had been praising the efforts of the governor for making education a top priority in the state as they believe it will go a very long way in the development of the state which in the past has not had such investment in the sector.

Also, governors of the North Eastern part of the country in their bid to also revamp education in the area had unanimously agreed to pay outstanding money owed there universities.

Taraba State, which is part of the zone had already commenced such sue to the dynamic leadership of Governor Agbu.

He not only provided infrastructure in all the institutions of higher learning, he also charged them to properly churn out graduates that will be self sufficient and motivated in order for them to challenge the status quo (looking for non existent blue collar jobs).

In a very strong but few words, the governor reminded all that care to hear and know that his administration is open to anyone who is ready to impact positively in the development of the state and uplifting the standard of living of the people.

With other giant strides achieved in other sectors in the state, it is pertinent to understand why the governor emphasis for quality education in the state cannot be derided.

People of goodwill, especially in Taraba State must join hands together irrespective of tribe or religion to help the governor achieve this dream as it will give the state a better placing in the committee of states in the country as one of the most developed state.
