Joint Security Team Successfully Rescues Abducted Kanya Resident
The swift action of joint security personnel has led to the rescue of nine out of the ten residents abducted from Kanya, in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
AbdurRahman Usman Zagga, Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, announced this in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday. He however, lamented that one person remains in captivity.
According to Zagga, the security team engaged the bandits in a gunfight, successfully rescuing the victims, though efforts are still ongoing to recover the last abductee.
He attributed the success of the operation to the unwavering support of His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, who has consistently provided the necessary resources to enhance the security agencies’ effectiveness.
Governor Nasir Idris, according to the Director, prioritizes the safety of lives and property in Kebbi State by ensuring that security personnel are well-equipped with logistics, allowances, and other forms of support to carry out their duties effectively.
While commending the governor and the security agencies for this notable achievement, Zagga reassured the public that every effort is being made to secure the safe release of the remaining victim.
It is worth recalling that His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, had earlier pledged the state government’s commitment to rescuing the abducted residents. Upon receiving news of the incident, the governor expressed deep concern but assured the public that the government, in collaboration with security agencies, would work tirelessly to secure the release of all abducted individuals.
