Sokoto Teenager In Police Custody For Abducting

The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested 18-year-old Abba Aliyu for allegedly kidnapping a two-year-old boy.

According to the police, Aliyu is a neighbour to Ibrahim Shehu, who reported that his son had gone missing since October 13, 2024, at Badon Hanya area Sokoto.

The police, in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by the spokesperson of the command, Ahmed Rufai, said the abductors of the boy demanded N2m for his release via phone call, disclosing that a sum of N500,000 was paid before the victim regained freedom.

Aliyu who was arrested at Badon hanya, behind Zamson filling station, Sokoto, confessed to have kidnapped the victim, according to the police.
