Kebbi Radio Undergoes Major Overhaul, Thanks To Governor Nasir Idris’ Visionary Leadership
The Kebbi State Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, is pleased to announce the comprehensive upgrade of Kebbi Radio, a key broadcasting outlet for the state, under the visionary leadership of Governor Dr. Nasir Idris.
Kebbi Radio, previously plagued by operational challenges and infrastructural neglect, has been transformed.
The governor recognized the urgency for reform and directed the complete revitalization of the station. Prior to this, the radio station faced a range of issues including dilapidated studios, outdated control rooms, and low staff morale, alongside fire-damaged office blocks.
In response, Governor Idris prioritized the rehabilitation of both Kebbi Radio and Kebbi TV, resulting in significant progress. Fire-ravaged offices have been refurbished, modern office furnishings provided, and new toilets constructed, creating a more functional and conducive working environment.
The studios and control rooms have undergone full upgrades for the first time since the station’s inception. These improvements include modern soundproofing, tiled floors, and enhanced air conditioning systems to protect equipment and boost durability, ensuring an efficient broadcasting environment.
Additionally, the governor’s commitment was further demonstrated with the purchase of modern broadcasting tools such as recording systems, computers, and microphones, leading to Kebbi Radio’s complete digital transformation. Key departments are now interconnected, streamlining news editing and minimizing errors.
Honourable Commissioner Yakubu Ahmed BK also highlighted that work is almost complete to connect the station to a dedicated power line. This will ensure uninterrupted broadcasting and extend programming hours, solidifying Kebbi Radio’s role in delivering reliable information.
The Commissioner praised Governor Idris for his unwavering support and leadership in repositioning Kebbi Radio and Kebbi TV, ensuring that both media outlets reflect the values, culture, and traditions of Kebbi State.
