Kuwait Blind Association Donates 150 Braille Qur'ans To Visually Impaired Students In Kebbi State

The Kuwait Blind Association has generously donated 150 Braille copies of the Holy Qur’an to visually impaired students at the Kebbi State School for Special Needs in Birnin Kebbi.

This donation aims to empower these students with greater ability in studying the Qur’an.

At a ceremony to present the donation on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imrana Ibn Usman, expressed gratitude for the association’s support, stating that the Braille Qur’ans will enable visually impaired students to study the holy text just as sighted individuals can.

‘ Each of the six volumes represents one Quran and each of you will get one copy, ‘ Usman said, assuring the students of their access to the Holy Qur’an in its entirety.

Engr. Usman also commended the school’s management and teachers for their dedication to educating students with special needs.

He further assured them that he would communicate the school’s challenges to Governor Nasir Idris , emphasizing the Governor’s commitment to the welfare and education of people with disabilities.

He averred ‘ This commitment is reflected in the establishment of a special needs commission and the appointment of board members dedicated to overseeing these initiatives’.

The Special Adviser commended the Izala sect for facilitating the connection with the Kuwait Blind Association, which made this donation possible.

The principal of the school, Malam Abubakar Yahaya Ambursa, expressed appreciation on behalf of the students, noting that the donation filled a critical gap for the institution. “Before today, we did not have a single complete Braille Qur’an in the school. Now, each student and teacher will have access to a personal copy,” he said.

He extended gratitude to the Kuwait Blind Association, the Izala sect, and Engr. Imrana Ibn Usman for their roles in bringing this valuable resource to Kebbi State’s students with special needs.
