In a continued effort to attract international investment and elevate Kebbi State as a hub for agricultural and livestock development, top executives of JBS S.A., from Brazil. one of the world’s largest meat processing companies, will visit Kebbi on Monday, 9th December 2024.

This landmark visit, facilitated by the dynamic leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, follows a series of successful foreign engagements aimed at boosting the state’s economic growth and advancing the livestock sector.

The Commissioner for Animal Health, Husbandry, and Fisheries, Mallam Kabir Usman Alaramma, stated this on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi during a press briefing.

He explained that the visit stems from fruitful discussions during a trip to Brazil earlier this year, led by Deputy Governor Senator Umar Abubakar and underscores Kebbi’s commitment to fostering partnerships for sustainable development.

According to him, the Brazilian delegation will be accompanied by officials from the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), led by Executive Secretary and CEO Hajiya Aisha Rimi.
Together, they will explore investment opportunities in livestock development, meat processing, and animal health.

“Their itinerary includes site visits to key livestock development centers and a courtesy meeting with Governor Nasir Idris,” he stated.

This visit follows closely on the heels of a significant milestone achieved during Governor Idris’ recent trip to Indonesia, where Kebbi State secured significant collaborations to enhance livestock production.
Notably, the Indonesian government donated 500 straws of semen to improve livestock breeds for high-quality beef and milk production, alongside training opportunities in artificial insemination and embryo transfer to the state.

He emphasized that the Governor’s strategic initiatives have positioned Kebbi State as a top destination for international investments in agriculture and livestock.

“Since assuming office in May 2023, Kaura’s administration has made remarkable strides in infrastructural development and economic reforms, attracting global recognition to Kebbi’s potential.

As Kebbi prepares to host the Brazilian investors, Governor Idris calls on the people of the state to continue supporting his administration through prayers and cooperation.
These partnerships are designed to bring advanced technology, expertise, and resources that will transform Kebbi’s livestock sector and create lasting benefits for the state.
