Gov Idris Approves Appointment Of More SSAs And Special Assistants

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has appointed all 27 former Sole Administrators of Development Areas in the state as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).
The Governor announced the appointments during a solidarity visit by the former Sole Administrators to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
He explained that the measure is interim, pending the implementation of a new scheme being developed for them.
To further show his appreciation, Governor Idris donated N10 million to the group for succor and transportation expenses. The delegation was led by Garba Hussaini Mungadi, a retired Permanent Secretary and former Sole Administrator, who now serves as Chairman of the Forum.
In another development, Governor Idris assured residents of Zuru Emirate in Birnin Kebbi that the state government would flag off the construction of the Koko-Mahuta-Dabai road this January to address transportation challenges in the area.
“The bad state of the road has discouraged social interactions and economic activities. While the road is a Federal Government project, I have sought permission to construct it using state resources,” the Governor said.
He added that if additional funding is needed for the project, he would seek the approval of the State House of Assembly. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, was present during the meeting. Governor Idris also donated N20 million to the Zuru Emirate residents for their expenses.
The leader of the Zuru delegation, retired Permanent Secretary Garba Hamisu Zuru, praised the Governor for improving security in the area, enabling residents to farm and achieve bumper harvests.
“We acknowledge your strides in uplifting the living standards of all communities in Kebbi State. Our support for your administration is unwavering,” Zuru said.
In line with his commitment to inclusiveness, Governor Idris has also appointed 65 additional Special Assistants (SAs). The appointees include 15 persons with disabilities and 50 musicians, artists, and dramatists.
