Kebbi Gov Flags Construction Of 8.4km Rural Road In Suru LGA

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has officially flagged off the construction of an 8.4-kilometer road in Suru Local Government Area.

The governor inaugurated the project on Friday, emphasizing that the approval for the road construction was aimed at facilitating the movement of goods and people across the region.

“This project was approved due to its significant economic benefits and the strategic importance of the road. My administration prioritized this construction to boost the state’s economy and improve connectivity for our citizens,” he stated.

The road, which stretches from Mashaya to Zankkuwa and links to Keji Village in Suru LGA, is expected to enhance transportation and economic activities in the area.

Governor Idris praised the contracting company for its efficiency in mobilizing workers and equipment to the site promptly.

“I am confident in your capabilities, given your track record of delivering impactful projects in the state. This is why I awarded the contract to your company through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP),” he added.

In his remarks, Hon. Bello Ka’oje, Member of the House of Representatives representing Bagudo and Suru Federal Constituency, expressed gratitude to the governor for bringing democratic dividends to the grassroots level.

The Project Engineer from Focus Soft Multi Trade & Construction Company Ltd., Eng. Murtala Mohammed Ganda, MNSE, provided an update on the project, stating that the construction is expected to be completed within 11 months.

He disclosed that the road will include the construction of 26 culverts, with 14 already completed. Eng. Ganda assured the government of timely and high-quality delivery of the project.
