By Emmanuel Udeh
The youth wing of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State, in collaboration with various support groups, has today publicly expressed their full and unwavering support for Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum.
The gathering was organized to officially endorse Damagum’s continued leadership of the PDP and reaffirm the confidence that the party’s youth hold in his capabilities.
Speaking at the briefing, the youth representatives emphasized that the PDP, as a party deeply committed to upholding the rule of law, is guided by principles that respect both structure and legality. According to them, the same laws that facilitated Ambassador Damagum’s emergence as the Acting National Chairman also make him fully eligible to continue leading the party.
“We have full confidence in his ability to steer the PDP toward success,” they noted. “Under his leadership, we believe the party will be strengthened and unified, enabling us to achieve victory at all levels of governance.”
The briefing further called on all members of the PDP to align with the guiding principles of the party and rally behind Ambassador Damagum. The youth emphasized that it is crucial for all members to work collaboratively, ensuring that the party emerges stronger and well-positioned for success in future elections.
“Today, we reaffirm our commitment to Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum as the rightful leader of the People’s Democratic Party,” the statement concluded. “His vision for the future of our party resonates with us, and we trust his leadership to guide the PDP forward.”
The event concluded with a call for unity, urging PDP supporters across the nation to come together under the leadership of Ambassador Damagum to secure a brighter future for the party.
The youth and support groups closed their statement by reaffirming their dedication to the growth and success of the PDP, and expressed optimism that, with strong leadership, the party will continue to be a dominant force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“Long live the People’s Democratic Party,” they said.
