Adefisoye Promises A Landslide Victory, As Idanre Remains Motionless In Support Of Aiyedatiwa
The rocky city of Idanre stood still on Sunday as the campaign train of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa moved to Idanre; ahead of the gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The carnival like campaign was attended by large numbers of APC members and supporters of Governor Aiyedatiwa. The expansive venue of the event was apparently over flooded by APC members that turned out from all parts of Idanre Local Government Area.
Governor Aiyedatiwa was obviously overwhelmed by the show of love and support demonstrated by the people of Idanre. The governor said he was surprised by the large crowd at the venue of the campaign. He added that the huge crowd was an assurance that Idanre people were fully in his support.
“I am surprised with the crowd at the venue of this campaign. This is clearly an assurance that the people of Idanre are for me. But, I must thank leaders of our party in Idanre for your support towards my patriotic ambition to move Ondo State to an enviable position in the comity of states in Nigeria”.
The Governor also assured that no effort would be spared to bring deserved development to Idanre. He however, urged the people not to rest on their oars in drumming support for his victory in both the APC gubernatorial primary as well as the general election that is slated for November 2024.
Meanwhile, a Chieftain of APC in Ondo State, Hon Tajudeen Adefisoye assured the crowd at the campaign venue that Governor Aiyedatiwa had a very high chance of winning the forthcoming gubernatorial primary. He also commended APC leaders and members in Idanre for the support given to Governor Aiyedatiwa thus far.
Small Alhaji, as he is popularly known described Governor Aiyedatiwa as the people’s choice. He therefore assured Aiyedatiwa that the people of Idanre would give him maximum votes during the primary election. He further said that the people of Idanre had already decided to follow and give maximum support to Governor Aiyedatiwa.
“I want to assure Governor Aiyedatiwa that our people in Idanre had already decided to give you maximum votes in both the primary and in the general elections. As you can see Your Excellency, Idanre is for you and we will not fail or falter. By the grace of God, we will deliver landslide victory to you in Idanre Local Government Area “.
Adefisoye also appreciated Aiyedatiwa for his listening ears and good governance in Ondo State since December 27, 2023 that he became Governor of the Sunshine State. He added that Aiyedatiwa deserved commendation for the purposeful governance, transformative development and the priority given to the welfare of workers in Ondo State.
Leaders of APC that attended the Idanre campaign include member representing Ondo East/Ondo West in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiola Makinde;
former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ade Adeogun; Mr. Tola Awosika, Commissioner designate from Idanre, Hon. Sunday Akinwalere and Hon Akinnayajo.
Others were member representing Idanre in Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Princess Tosin Ajirotutu; Hon. Prince Kayode Aroloye, Hon Jide Akinroluyo. Hon. Henry Olatunja, Hon Tuyi, Hon. Salas among others . However, Chairman of theAll Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State who also hails from Idanre, was conspicuously missing at the event.
