The Arewa Media Advancement Forum (AMAF) has commended Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, for prioritizing media development in the state, citing the digitalization and modernization of Kebbi Radio and Kebbi Television, as worthy of praise.

The Forum described the Governor’s action the as a significant advancement in the state’s media infrastructure, highlighting his commitment to empowering media houses to effectively educate, enlighten, and entertain the public.

AMAF Chairman, Musa Garba, made the commendation on Saturday in Kaduna, acknowledging the installation of modern broadcast equipment at Kebbi Radio Service as a milestone achievement under the Governor’s administration.

The Forum strongly condemned the recent armed robbery attack on Kebbi Radio Station by 15 armed criminals, who overpowered security personnel and carted away important equipment, including transformer accessories, batteries, cables, and computers.

“This brazen attack is not just a criminal act; it is an attempt to undermine the developmental strides of Governor Idris’ administration,” Garba stated.

He expressed support for the ongoing efforts of security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators, urging them to intensify their investigations.

Garba described the incident as the most devastating of three attacks on the station in recent times, lamenting that it occurred just as residents were celebrating the station’s rehabilitation and modernization.

The AMAF Chairman reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to the protection of public assets and advancing media development throughout Northern Nigeria.

He also called on other governors to emulate Governor Nasir Idris’ media-friendly posture, to foster the growth of journalism nationwide.
