Asset Declaration: CCT Orders Aruwan, Shizzer, Abdullahi to Resign
The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has ordered three senior officials from the Kaduna State Government—Honorable Samuel Aruwan Peter, Honorable Shizzer Nasara Bada, and Tijjani Mohammed Abdullahi—to resign amid allegations of false asset declarations.
Honorable Samuel Aruwan Peter is the acting Commissioner for Internal Security, Honorable Shizzer Nasara Bada serves as the Commissioner for Finance, and Tijjani Mohammed Abdullahi is the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
This directive, announced on October 22, 2024, follows an ex parte application from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), which cited violations of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act (CAP C1 LFN 2004).
CCT spokesperson Veronica Kato stated that the officials are suspended pending a hearing regarding a motion filed by the Bureau on October 21, 2024.
The CCB began investigating the officials after receiving a petition alleging multiple infractions. “Following the investigation, the Bureau pursued their prosecution before the Tribunal,” explained Veronica.
Moreover, the Tribunal has suggested that the Governor and Secretary of the Kaduna Government appoint appropriate replacements for the impacted positions.
The accused officials are scheduled to appear before the Tribunal on November 7, 2024, to respond to the charges against them.
