Barcelona New Signing To Don Jersey Number 8 This Season

Barcelona new signing Miralem Pjanic will don the jersey number 8 this season for the Blaugrana team.

Pjanic will inherit Arthur Melo’s squad number, according to the report in Sport, the 30-year-old has already been handed his new squad number and will take over from the Brazilian midfielder.

The Bosnia star trained for the first time with the rest of the squad last week and he is expected to train on Monday ahead of a proposed debut on Wednesday when the Camp Nou outfit take on Girona in their second friendly match.

Pjanic did not play in the 3-1 victory against Gimnastic on Saturday and he is anxious to get started for the Barcelona.

Barcelona will play against Villarreal in their La Liga opener on Sunday.
