Abba Moro Tackles Alia As APC Emerge Winner Of LG Seats

On Monday, the People’s Democratic Party and its candidate for the Benue governorship, Titus Uba, had their appeal denied by the Supreme Court.

The governorship election petition tribunal and the court of appeal in Abuja had affirmed the election of Hyacinth Alia as governor of Benue state.

Not pleased with the judgments, Uba approached the apex court for redress.

It was earlier reported that Alia of the All Progressive Congress was declared the winner of the state’s governorship election in March 2023.

Alia, who is a Catholic priest, was also given a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The APC candidate received 473,933 votes, according to INEC Returning Officer Prof. Faruk Kuta, defeating his nearest opponent, Peoples Democratic Party candidate Titus Uba, who received 223,914 votes.
