During the meeting, Cardoso emphasized the CBN’s dedication to fostering partnerships in key sectors that drive economic growth and development.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria remains committed to advancing partnerships that will deepen economic ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. We will continue to explore opportunities that yield tangible benefits for both countries,” he said.

The CBN Governor assured that the bank is ready to play a critical role in facilitating collaboration, which would bring substantial economic benefits to both nations.

In his response, Ambassador Alghamdi expressed appreciation for the warm reception from the CBN Governor and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s keen interest in expanding bilateral cooperation.

He highlighted Renewable Energy, Agriculture, and Water Connectivity as key sectors where the Kingdom is eager to collaborate with Nigeria.

“We are eager to strengthen our relationship with Nigeria and explore mutually beneficial opportunities that will contribute to the prosperity of both nations,” Alghamdi stated.

Mr. Cardoso also commended the Saudi government for its hospitality during the recently concluded AIUla event, which was hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Regional Office in Riyadh.

The meeting signals a renewed commitment to deepening economic ties between the two countries, with a focus on strategic investments and trade partnerships.
