CG, DCG of NHFSS Honoured By Emir of Potiskum

The Emir of Pataskum (Potiskum) in Yobe State, Mai Pataskum, on Sunday, February 11, 2024, conferred the titles on the Commander General Of Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service Dr Wole Joshua Osatimehu and Deputy Commander General (Technical Services), Amb John Metchie,

The title of Zanna Bara Pataskum (King of the Forest) was confered on the Commander General. while the Emir turbaned the Deputy Commander General, Technical Services NHFSS, as the Garkuwan Mafarauta (Protector of the Forest) Pataskum.

The traditional ruler said at the occasion that the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, NHFSS Commander General, Dr. Osatimehin was turned as King of the Forest, because of his leadership qualities, selfless service and commitment to rid Nigerian forests of bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers and such other criminalities even when there is no renumeration to him and the officers of the organization.

He stated that the Deputy Commander General (Technical Services), Amb John Metchie, was honoured as the Protector of the Forrest for his loyalty to the CG as well as playing frontal role while providing technical and field command which he said contributed immensely to the successes being recorded by the organization across the country.

It should be noted, John Metchie is also philanthropist

According to the respected traditional ruler, all Nigerians are hearing the news of the various achievements of the NHFSS in complimenting security agencies in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other crimes committed withing the forests.

Responding, the NHFSS Commander General and Zanna Bara Pataskum, Dr. Wole Joshua Osatimehin, said he, on behalf of Officers and Men of the Service is grateful for the honour bestowed on him and the DCG Technical by the Emir and the Pataskum Emirate.

He pledged the commitment of the NHFSS in complimenting the work of the Nigeria Police, the Nigerian Army, the DSS and other security agencies towards achieving President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the overall security of the country.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the Certificate of Honour on the NHFSS Commander General and the Deputy Commander General which were signed by the Ag. Secretary of the Pataskum (Potiskum) Emirate, Mal Gambo Adamu.
