“Come, Let’s Collaborate In The Spirit Of Democracy.” -Governor Sani Informs The Opposition
In order to take Kaduna State to new heights, Governor Uba Sani has urged the opposition to work with his administration.
Sani said as much on Friday during an interview with Politics Today on Channels Television.
He said, “Now that the election has been affirmed by the Supreme Court, I would like to call on Isah Ashiru to join hands with me to move Kaduna State forward.
“That is why I want to invite him and any other citizen of Kaduna State who have something to offer to come, let’s work together in the spirit of democracy.”
Recall that the Supreme Court upheld Sani’s election its judgment on the Kaduna State governorship tussle on Friday.
A five-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun held that the appeal by Ashiru lacked merit.
Speaking on the judgement, Governor Sani the action of the PDP candidate deepens democracy and the rule of law.
Sani said, “I want to use this opportunity to thank my brother and friend, Isah Ashiru, at least for embracing the legal process and ventilating his anger by going to the Supreme Court at this critical time.
As you recall, he was present at the tribunal. He fled the tribunal and proceeded to the Court of Appeal, which was followed by the Supreme Court. What he did was admirable in my opinion. That is democracy’s function.
“You should contact the judiciary if you’re not satisfied. That’s what he did, of course. It is now evident that the Supreme Court upheld my election with a unanimous decision. Naturally, the decision was very well-founded.
