Developmental Strides Of Gov Idris Excite Participants Of National Qur’anic Recitation Competition
Participants from 34 states attending the National Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital, have expressed admiration for the remarkable developmental strides of Governor Nasir Idris.
The participants, representing their respective states in the 10-day Musabaqa competition, were taken on a tour of major projects in the state capital ahead of the competition’s final stage.
The tour showcased the transformative initiatives undertaken by Governor Idris, popularly known as Kauran Gwandu and Gwarzon Daular Usmaniyya, within less than two years in office.
The tour was led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi; Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Aliyu; the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Yahaya Sarki; and other officials.
The participants visited key sites, including the Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex at Gwadangwaji, the Birnin Kebbi Central Motor Park, and the rice fields at the Zauro polder station, highlighting Kebbi’s abundant rice farming potential.
Addressing the participants at the Gwadangwaji Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex, Commissioner Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi detailed the significance of the projects initiated and completed under Governor Idris.
He emphasized the historical importance of the Secretariat Complex, which had been abandoned before its recent completion and is now awaiting commissioning.
Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Aliyu, welcomed the participants to Kebbi State and commended Governor Idris for hosting the historic event. He praised the Governor’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of participants throughout their stay in the state.
Expressing their gratitude, some participants, including Jamilu Isah from Katsina State and Maimuna Pategi from the FCT, Abuja, offered prayers for continued development in Kebbi State and for Governor Nasir Idris’ good health and visionary leadership.
