Gov Of A’Ibom Swears In Newly-Elected LG Chairmen

THE elders and leaders of Uyo Senatorial district, USD, under the umbrella of Akwa Ibom North East consultative Forum have passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno.

The forum at a press briefing on Monday in Uyo, said their unanimous decision to pass a vote of confidence on governor Eno came after assessing his achievements in the past one year.

Briefing newsmen, leader of the Forum, and political leader of Uyo Senatorial district, Senator Effiong Bob noted that the governor in just one year in office has demonstrated competence and capability in piloting affairs of Akwa Ibom state.

He pointed out that with the verdict by millions of Akwa Ibom people on the governor’s performance in just one year in office, that it has become convincing that he already has the people’s support for 8years in office.

His words, “Our dear son, Leader, and Governor has scored many firsts in terms of project initiation and completion, policy introduction and implementation, and has steadied the ship of consolidation on the gains made by previous administrations in this state.

“In the area of Youth and Manpower development, the governor through the Ibom leadership and Entrepreneurial Development (Ibom-LED)Centre has done well. Today so many youths are undergoing trainings within and outside the state.

“He has remodelled Health centres across the 31 local government areas, some are ongoing.

“Today, the songs of mourning that was becoming permanent in the mouths of retirees in Akwa Ibom on account of unsettled backlog of gratuities have been swiftly replaced with songs of thanksgiving and gratitude owing to the Governor’s swift intervention in clearing the backlog of gratuities.

“It takes a leader with good conscience to do this clearing of backlog of gratuities. For us this is a good that the governor is doing and we applaud him.

Today, We the people of Uyo Senatorial district pass a vote of confidence on our governor, Pastor Umo Eno for all that he has done within just one year in office. All the things that the governor has done are there for all to see.

Even the blind can feel the impact of what he has done in one year. And we are taking judicial note of the role and support that everyone is giving Pastor Umo Eno as he takes the State to newer altitudes of transformation through good governance and will return this favour after his eight year reign as Governor”

Senator Bob said they are particularly happy that Umo Eno has kept his promise of completing projects his administration inherited, noting that if past governors had done same, there would not have been abandoned projects in the state.

Continuing he described the cordial relationship between the governor, President Bola Tinubu and the Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, as a welcome development stressing that the senatorial district would support any relationship that would enhance unity, and also attract great development to the state.

“We also use this opportunity to congratulate the Hon Minister of Petroleum Resources (Gas) Obong Ekperikpe Ekpo. He has shown leadership, and maturity in that office. We are happy he is working harmoniously with the state governor and we appeal that it should continue”., Bob asserted.

The motion for the Vote of Confidence on governor Eno was moved by , Member Representing Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium/Etinan Federal Constituency and former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obong Paul Ekpo and seconded by the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kufreabasi Edidem.
