Emir Of Gwandu Applauds Governor Idris For Transforming Emir’s Mosque
The Emir of Gwandu, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar (rtd), has commended Governor Nasir Idris for the complete renovation of the Sarkin Gwandu Mosque, enhancing its appearance and functionality.
The Emir gave his commendation during the formal reopening of the mosque, located within the emir’s palace in Birnin Kebbi, after the Friday Jumu’at prayer.
He noted that while the renovation was initiated by the previous administration, it was successfully completed under Governor Idris’ leadership. The project not only restored the mosque but also equipped it with modern facilities, ensuring comfort for worshippers.
Iliyasu-Bashir urged the mosque committee to prioritize proper maintenance of the facilities to ensure their longevity.
In his speech, the Emir also called on traders and the wealthy to fear God in their dealings, especially regarding the high prices of farm produce despite the ongoing harvest season.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the Friday prayer, Engr. Manir Musa Jega, CEO of M-Tech Concept Engineering and Construction Company—the firm responsible for the mosque’s renovation—praised Governor Idris for entrusting local contractors with state projects.
He highlighted that such initiatives would create more job opportunities and empower indigenous contractors.
Engr. Manir also encouraged other governors across Nigeria to follow Governor Idris’ example, especially in undertaking developmental projects that benefit their people.
