Eno Indicates A Desire To See The EkrItam-Mbiaya Road Completed
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has voiced worry about the abandoned state of the Etam-Mbiaya road and has instructed the competent ministry to make sure that construction on the road gets started right away and is completed.
According to a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, governor Eno spoke weekend when he attended a marriage ceremony held in Mbiaya community in Uruan local government area.
He directed the Commissioner for Works and Fire service, Prof. Eno Ibanga to find out the reason for the non execution of the road which had been awarded by state government.
He urged all parties involved in the execution of the road project to work to ensure that the good intentions of the government for the people of the area was actualized.
According to the statement the governor said, “I came on this road it doesn’t look good to me. I have asked the Commissioner for Works and Fire service to make sure that this road is fixed.
“I saw that it has been stopped somewhere. If the contractor has abandoned the job let us know.
” If we are owing the contractor please pay him and let him continue the job. That is the gift I can give to you (community) on this occasion.
“I want to assure that the State government is committed to meeting with the necessary obligations on its side to ensure execution of this project.
“I therefore demand that all parties involved should work towards the accomplishment of government’s good intentions for the people of this area”.
