Gov. Idris Commissions Mosque, Visits Skill Acquisition Center In Illo
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State commissioned a renovated Mosque and visited a skill acquisition center constructed by Hon. Bello Dallatu Kaoje, the House of Representatives member representing Bagudo/Suru federal constituency.
The governor was accompanied by the former Governor of the State, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, SSG, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, Head of Service, Alhaji Sufyanu Garba Bena, some commissioners, Special Advisers, and politicians. They observed the Friday prayer in the mosque soon after its commissioning in Illo, Bagudo local Government Area.
Special prayers for the sustenance of peace, unity, and security were held by the Chief Imam of the Mosque at the instance of the governor, Hon. Bello Dallatu Kaoje, and his entourage.
Governor Nasir Idris also visited a skill acquisition center built and equipped by Hon. Bello Kaoje, Dallatu, representing the area.
The skill acquisition center, located in the middle of Illo town, comprises computer, tailoring, soap, vulcanizer, cream, catering, wheel alignment and balancing, hair salon, and barbing sections that are utilized by the youth trainees, including females.
In his brief remarks to the trainees at the computer section, Governor Nasir Idris said his administration would continue to initiate and support skills acquisition programs for youth development.
He commended the lawmaker for what he described as a laudable initiative to empower the youths.
“We thank the lawmaker for his consistent commitment to changing the lives of people. You have done it now and we believe you will continue to do it,” he affirmed.
Earlier, one of the tutors at the computer section, Murtala Usman, appreciated the presence of the governor at the Center. Usman appealed to Governor Nasir Idris to assist in supporting the center due to its importance for youth empowerment.
He assured the governor of his total commitment to ensuring that the trainees acquire the desired computer skills and graduate within six months.
