Gov Idris Embarks On Thank-You Tour to 21 LGAs, Visits Gwandu, Argungu, Augie

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kaura), on Saturday began a statewide tour of all 21 local government areas to express gratitude for the overwhelming support he received during the 2023 general elections, which ensured his victory and that of the ruling APC in the state.

The tour kicked off in Gwandu Local Government, where hundreds of party supporters and residents gathered to welcome the Governor and his entourage. Governor Idris appreciated the people of Gwandu for their prayers and unwavering support, pledging to continue delivering meaningful development across the state.

“We are here to thank you for your support, which led to our victory. We will fulfill our promises and ensure the state’s progress,” he assured. The Governor also commended Senator Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, for his contributions to Kebbi State’s development.

Governor Idris announced that refunds for the 2023 Hajj pilgrims had commenced and would be handled prudently. He reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of pilgrims and all citizens.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Atiku Bagudu praised Governor Idris for his achievements and urged the people to continue supporting his administration. The APC campaign DG and former Governor, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, also lauded the residents for voting decisively for Kaura in the last elections.

In Argungu Local Government, Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening security, no matter the cost. “We promised to protect lives and property, and we have delivered. We will continue to ensure peace and tranquility in Kebbi State,” he stated. He urged residents to report suspicious activities to local authorities and security agencies.

The Governor highlighted Kebbi’s leadership in agriculture, particularly rice production, and attributed this success to the efforts of his predecessor, Senator Atiku Bagudu. He also emphasized the importance of consulting traditional rulers, elders, and religious leaders to advance the state’s progress.

The APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu (Jarman Kabi), commended Governor Idris for his transformative projects in both urban and rural areas, describing him as a symbol of success among APC governors.

In Augie Local Government, Governor Idris expressed profound gratitude to the people for their overwhelming support during the elections, noting that he secured victory in all wards of the area. He commended their resilience against banditry and highlighted his administration’s proactive measures to restore security and confidence in the region.

Alhaji Bashir Isah Mera, the APC Chairman in Augie, praised the Governor for his swift action in addressing security challenges, particularly in Lakurawa. He also acknowledged significant progress in agriculture under the Governor’s leadership.

Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah remarked that Governor Idris’ victory was a blessing to Kebbi State, urging residents to continue supporting him and his administration beyond 2027.

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, applauded the people of Augie for their bravery in the face of insecurity and commended the Governor for taking decisive steps to address these challenges.

Governor Idris’ entourage included Senator Atiku Bagudu, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, Hon. Bello Kaoje, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, and other top government officials, including State APC executives, House of Assembly members, commissioners, and special advisers.

The thank-you tour underscores Governor Idris’ commitment to fostering unity, development, and security across Kebbi State while acknowledging the steadfast support of its citizens.
