Gov Idris Flags Off Rural Road Construction, Reaffirms Commitment To Provision Of Free Fertilizer

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, on Monday, flagged off the construction of the 11 kilometre Maidangwami-Kangi road in Fakai Local Government Area at the cost of N2.3 billion.
The Garkuwan Zuru performed the flag off ceremony in the course of his thank you visit to Fakai, Sakaba, and Danko Wasagu Local Government Areas.
“This is momentous and joyous occasion to me and the benefitting communities, it’s a fulfilment of my campaign promise when I sought your mandate in the 2023 elections”,
“The people of Kangi supported me and APC triumphed in the polls, whenever we visit this town, we are full of happiness”,
“IN THE NAME OF THE ALMIGHTY ALLAH, I am cutting this tape to flag off the construction of the Maidangwami-Kangi road to be executed under RAAMP, for the economic and social prosperity of the area”, The GWARZON DAULAR USMANIYYA remarked.
He gave an assurance that the contractor would execute quality Job according to specifications and contractual agreement.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Shehu Muazu, informed the gathering that the road was part of the 350 kilometre rural road projects under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP, approved in 2023 by Governor Idris.
Afterwards , Governor Nasir Idris arrived Mahuta, headquarters headquarters of Fakai Local Government to a tumultuous welcome by the people of the area.
On arrival, Comrade Nasir Idris commissioned the newly renovated Palace of the Chief of Mahuta Chiefdom, Alhaji Udu Dan Mallam.
He also received defectors from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The new entrants acknowledged the monumental record of achievement of Governor Idris in all segments of development as motivation for teeming up with the ruling party to consolidate on facilitating the upliftment of Kebbi State to greater heights.
Addressing the people at the venue, the Governor said his administration has made it an indelible policy to provide free fertilizer to farmers throughout the duration of his tenure.
“My administration is a government of the people, this is the only administration not only in the North but also in the entire Nigeria to give out fertilizer and assorted grains free to the citizenry”, Governor Idris said.
He highlighted other projects executed by incumbent government that include township roads in Argungu, Yauri and the state capital, Birnin Kebbi.
The Governor gave glad tidings that the construction of the dilapidated Koko-Dabai road would begin this Tuesday, which he is set to flag off.
Governor Idris further spoke about improvement of the education sector, increasing school feeding expenditure from ₦175 million to ₦300 million monthly, payment of registration, tuition and examinations fees for students in tertiary and secondary schools, to reduce burden on parents.
In addition, the Governor affirmed respect to traditional institution, subsidizing Hajj for Pilgrims, assuring that he would continue to purchase sacrificial animals, (Hadaya), free for Kebbi State pilgrims in the Holy Land.
The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Professor Suleiman Khalid, enumerated the number of classrooms newly constructed or renovated in Fakai Local Government Area approved by the Governor.
At Dirin Daji, Sakaba Local Area, Governor Idris expressed gratitude to the people for their unwavering support to him and the APC that secured victory for the party in the last general elections.
He approved the construction of a female secondary school and provision of electricity, as requested by the District Head and the Local Government Chairman.
Furthermore , he announced plans to assess and begin construction of the Makuku road.
Similarly, at Ribah, Danko-Wasagu Local Government, Governor Nasir Idris flagged off the construction of the Ribah-Maga road, appreciating the people of the area for their political support.
In the course of his visit to Fakai, Sakaba, and Danko Wasagu, Governor Idris received hundreds of defectors from the PDP to the APC, strengthening political unity and understanding.
