Gov Idris Hosts Vice President Shettima At Wedding Ceremony Of Hon. Bello Kaoje’s Daughter

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), hosted Vice President Kashim Shettima and other dignitaries to the wedding of the daughter of Hon. Bello Kaoje, Member of the House of Representatives for Bagudo/Suru Constituency, Kebbi State.
The Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi witnessed a flurry of activities as flights brought in esteemed guests from across the country. Vice President Shettima arrived at 11:00 am, followed shortly by a delegation from the National Assembly at 11:30 am.
Prominent dignitaries at the event include Governors Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno State) and Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto State), the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and former Governors, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima and former Kebbi State Governor, Sa’idu Dakingari.
Also in attendance was the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu as well as the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Tanko Yusuf Sununu.
The wedding ceremony took place at the AbdUllahi Fodiyo Palace, Birnin Kebbi, with Vice President Shettima serving as the Special Guest of Honour.
He presided over the solemnization of three marriages in line with Islamic traditions.
The Vice President stood as the Waliy (guardian) for Sadiyya Bello Kaoje, who was joined in marriage to Zaharadeen Faruq Bala with a dowry of ₦300,000.
In his remarks, Shettima prayed for the couple, saying:
“I pray to Allah to bless them with good health, longevity, and righteous offspring while granting our nation peace and security.”
Similarly, he represented Yusra Bala Bawa, who married Hussaini Adamu Hussaini, son of a prominent contractor, ZBBC. The dowry of ₦300,000 was paid, and Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State performed the role of Wakil (representative) for both grooms.
Governor Nasir Idris served as the Waliy for Hadiza Aliyu, who married Nafi’u Zaki. Governor Babagana Umara Zulum stood as the Wakil for the groom, with the dowry set at ₦200,000.
The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of the Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar (Rtd. Maj-Gen.), offered royal blessings to the couples.
The Chief Imam of the Palace Jumu’a Mosque, Liman Muhammadu Lawali, and the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Sheikh Mukhtar Walin Gwandu, performed the Islamic rites and offered prayers for the newlyweds, the leaders, and the nation.
Vice President Shettima concluded the ceremony by praying for Allah’s blessings on the couples, prosperity for the nation, and enduring peace and security.
