Gov. Idris Meets Indonesian Ambassador, Reaffirms Commitment To strengthen Ties In Agriculture, Mining, Animal Production

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed his administration’s commitment to partnering with the Indonesian government in achieving self-sufficiency in animal production, agriculture, and mining.
Governor Idris made this known while receiving the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Usra Hendra Harahap, at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on a courtesy visit on Sunday.
The governor commended the Ambassador’s visit, describing it as a follow-up to his recent trip to Jakarta, Indonesia.
He emphasized the fruitful discussions during the visit and reiterated the state’s readiness to collaborate on various development projects.
Governor Idris highlighted Kebbi State’s partnerships with nine mining companies, including one from China, as part of efforts to harness the state’s mineral resources.
He also noted the administration’s achievements within a short period, particularly in education, healthcare delivery, road construction, and rural development.
The governor revealed that by the first quarter of 2025, his administration would roll out several empowerment programs targeting youth, women, and individuals with special needs.
He assured the Indonesian delegation of his administration’s commitment to fostering a productive partnership for effective outcomes.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dr. Usra Hendra Harahap explained that their visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia, Nigeria, and Kebbi State in particular.
He outlined plans for technical cooperation in artificial insemination and embryo transfer, noting that these initiatives would enhance agricultural productivity and capacity building.
The Ambassador further disclosed plans to establish an artificial insemination center in Kebbi, which will play a pivotal role in advancing the state’s agricultural sector.
The event was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service,some members of the State Executive Council, and other top government officials.
