Gov. Idris Signs Bill For The Establishment Of Kebbi State Commission For Persons Living With Disability

Gov. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has assented to the bill for the establishment of Kebbi State Commission for Persons with Living with Disability.

The Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon . Muhammad Usman Ankwe presented the bill to the governor for his assent after ratification by the Assembly at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi this Tuesday.

According to the Statement Issued by YAHAYA SARKI, Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity to Kebbi State Governor.

In a remark, Governor Nasir Idris thanked the Speaker and the entire legislators for the quick passage of the bill , saying that it is a clear testimony that the Assembly is the people’s Assembly.

Comrade Dr Nasir Idris remarked that ‘ My administration is working harmoniously with the Legislators, I am enjoying maximum support from the House”.

The Governor explained that the essence for the establishment of the commission was to protect the rights and privileges of people living with disability and give them a sense of belonging like other persons in the society.

“My administration will tap individual talent of all manner of people including those with disability for harnessing into societal growth”, he said.

Gov. Nasir reaffirmed commitment to govern with justice and fairness, saying all the people of Kebbi State should come together under a unity of purpose.

‘ Now that litigattion is over, what remains is good governance, to do justice to Kebbi People, we have started well and we will continue on that path ‘.

The Governor announced that he would flag off the construction of Malando-Warra Road as the contractor handling the project has returned back to site.

In addition, Governor Nasir Idris said that the Kebbi state government was in consultations with the Federal Government to allow the state Government handle the execution of Koko-Zuru Road project to be reimbursed afterwards.

Presenting the bill to the governor for assent, the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwe said the Assembly gave quick passge to the bill to provide platform to Persons with disability to prosper with the necessary support of their wellbeing and inclusivity.

Rt. Hon Ankwe commended the governor for his fatherly care to all the people of Kebbi State since taking over the mantle of leadership of the State as testified by his developmental strides and improvement of the living standard of the populace.

The Speaker reaffirmed commitment of the assembly to maintain cordial working relationship with the executive arm to accelerate the development of the State, and on behalf of other members congratulated him on his victory at the Supreme Court .

Ankwe described the victory at the supreme Court as the triumph for justice as well as reaffirmation of the confidence the people of Kebbi State have in his administration.
