Gov. Idris Swears In Hon Adamu Aliyu Liba, Chairman Maiyama

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has sworn in Hon. Adamu Aliyu Liba as new Chairman of Maiyama Local Government Area.

According to the Press Statement Signed by YAHAYA SARKI, Special Adviser (SA) to Kebbi State Governor on Media and Publicity.

The swearing in of the new Chairman was as a result of the death of Hon. Zayyanu Bello who passed away on Thursday following a brief illness at Usmanu Danfodio Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.

The oath of office and allegiance was administered by Justice Hassan Kuwa at Government House, Birnin Kebbi this Friday presided by Gov. Nasir Idris.

In a remark, Governor Nasir Idris congratulated the new Council Chairman of Maiyama local Government Area and wished him well.

He reminded Hon. Adamu Aliyu Liba that he was sworn in as the Chairman of Maiyama following the death of late Hon Zayyanu Bello and therefore the need for him to fear God in the discharge of his duty.

Taking this position is an act of God because Hon Zayyanu Bello is now late, his remains is now history, I want you to take note of that.

“Death is not knocking on anybody’s door, when times come you have to go, one of my lecturers in the university said all of us are strangers here”.

He charged Hon. Adamu Aliyu Liba to continue to run an open door policy to understand the yearnings and aspirations of his people, impact positively on their lives and do justice to all people of the local Government.

“I want you to continue from where the late Chairman stopped and impact on lives of your people”.

“Maiyama Local Government is a strong hold of APC in the state, do justice to all” he averred.

Governor Idris also assured the new Chairman of the State Government’s readiness to support him in discharging his responsibilities while directing him to also carry his council and civil servants along.
