Governor Idris Mourns The Passing Away Of Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu (Rtd.)

The Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has expressed profound shock and sadness over the passing of Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu (Rtd.), a distinguished elder statesman, retired Justice of the Supreme Court, and renown jurist who held esteemed positions in the Nigerian judiciary.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, and the people of Argungu, Governor Idris prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the late Justice, asking the Almighty to grant him Aljannah Firdaus and bestow fortitude upon his family to bear this great loss.
He described the late Justice as an honest and accomplished statesman.
Governor Idris also lauded his immense contributions to the rule of law and judicial reform in Nigeria.
“Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu was a man of integrity who served diligently and rose to the pinnacle of his career as a Justice of the Supreme Court, retiring with an unblemished record”,
“His dedication to justice and service to the nation will remain an enduring legacy,” the Governor said.
Governor Idris further noted that Justice Argungu’s demise is a significant loss not only to Kebbi State but to Nigeria, particularly the judiciary, where his contributions to legal reforms and the administration of justice were invaluable.
Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu was laid to rest on Sunday in his hometown, Argungu, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The funeral prayer was attended by senior officials of the Kebbi State Government,led by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Malami Muhammad Shekare , TPL, including the Emir of Argungu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera; APC National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu; serving and retired judicial officers; religious leaders; businessmen; friends; and community members.
