Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, following its passage by the State House of Assembly.

The Legislature approved the budget figure of N580.32 billion, as presented by the Executive on December 18, 2024.

Speaking during the signing ceremony on Friday, Governor Idris reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in implementing the budget for impactful service delivery.

“We shall follow the budget processes, allocations, and all other provisions to ensure effective implementation. The government will prioritize grassroots development, enabling rural dwellers to feel the impact of our initiatives,” the governor stated.

Governor Idris praised the harmonious relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms, which he described as key to the administration’s achievements.

“The success we have recorded would not have been possible without the Legislature’s support. I commend your commitment to serving the people and delivering the dividends of democracy. In 2025, you will witness numerous projects across your constituencies,” he assured.

The Governor also issued a stern warning to Commissioners and Special Advisers, emphasizing performance evaluation as he approaches two years in office.

“I will not hesitate to dismiss any non-performing official. Everyone must brace themselves for the tasks ahead,” he added.

Presenting the Appropriation Law for the Governor’s assent, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sama’ila Muhammad Bagudo, highlighted the Assembly’s commitment to expediting legislative processes.

“We have fulfilled our promise to hasten the passage of the budget. The Assembly remains committed to supporting initiatives that will position Kebbi State for progress and development,” Bagudo stated.

The signed Appropriation Law now sets the stage for the implementation of various developmental projects across the state in the coming year.
