House Commitee On Sports To Ensure Full Private Investment In Sports -Hon.Jajere

The Deputy Chairman House of Representatives committee on Sports Hon. Muhammed Buba Jajere has reaffirmed the commitment of his committee to look to tackle the challenges bedevilling sports development in Nigeria.

Hon Jajere stated this in an interview with Newsmen in Abuja, the Lawmaker stated that as soon as the committee commences work after resumption from recess they will strategize on how best to get sponsorship for the various sports that Nigeria is known to be a good at adding that by so doing, the issue of funding will be addressed.

He pointed out that if individuals and corporate bodies are encouraged to support the sporting sector, the nation may be a force to reckon with.

“Nigeria’s soccer league is not functioning like the the English Premier League, Italian and the Spanish Leagues

“We have identified the issues and very soon, we are going to have meetings with all stakeholders so that we can map out the ways to sort things out.

The legislator also added that sports such as badminton, volleyball, hockey and others would be captured in the Sports Commitee of the House of Representatives with the view of reviving holistically the sports sector of the country.
