How A Teenage Was Sodomized By A Lured Abia Radio Presenter – Police
A radio host was detained on Saturday, according to the Abia State Police Command, for allegedly sodomizing a teenage boy in the state’s Obingwa area.
It claimed to have received a report on January 1, 2024, regarding an alleged incident in which the suspect, identified as Chigozie, allegedly had illicit knowledge of a 15-year-old boy.
In a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, on Saturday, the command said, “Mr Chigozie was accused of engaging in unlawful carnal knowledge with a minor (names withheld). Discreet Investigation is ongoing and the matter will be charged to court.”
However, sources said the 37-year-old resident in the Eastern Ngwa division was not an employee of any radio station but operated as a freelance journalist in radio stations within Aba.
Our correspondent, however, gathered that Chigozie was arrested on December 31, 2023, at his residence following complaints lodged at the Eastern Ngwa Police Station by the father of the victim.
According to the victim, the suspect took him to a place around a hotel in Aba and gave him bread to eat which he refused.
He said the suspect allegedly slapped him and he fell on the bed and slept off, but woke up in the morning with pain in his anus.
It was discovered that the man threatened to kill the teenager if he told anyone what had happened to him when the teenager asked the suspect what had happened to him.
It is reported that Chigozie is being held at the Eastern Ngwa Police Station right now.
