The National Association of Jukun Students (NAJUS) has called on the member representing Ardo Kola, Lau and Karim lamido federal constituency, Hon Danladi Baido

to contest for the seat of the governor in Taraba state come 2023 election.

The group made this known through its National President Comr. Ahwepa Yohanna Acewa, when he led his group members in a press conference at Shield Hotel, Jalingo, Taraba state.

He described Baido as an agent of societal transformation, saying that Taraba state would be in safe hands with the legislator at the helms of its affairs.

The President further said the decision of the group to invite and adopt him as their sole candidate, came via wide consultation and assessment of the antecedents of the lawmaker as well as the crucial roles he played as a member of the State Executive Council (SEC) in charge Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on the transformation and modernising the face of the state in both administrative and structural development.

Acewa added that Baido is not an household name in Taraba state because he is a politician and has held several positions before going to the National Assembly but also because he has achieved a lot in the area of human and infrastructural development.

According to him, Baido’s track records and experience necessitated their call for his endorsement, adding that his past records and other emerging youths development initiatives and empowerment schemes ignited their quest for the clarion call.

He also added that the lawmaker has proven that he would make youths and students affairs an utmost priority in his menu of service delivery if supported to govern Taraba state.

Speaking, Hon. Danladi Baido who was ably represented by his legislative aide, Mr. Babayo Umar Kabir thanked the group and said its call was timely and well thought-out, adding that he would relate their message and all that transpired to the honourable member while looking forward to a cordial working relationship.

All the group officials were present, amongst which were the Vice President, Rompe Rimamyare R, Echen Chigaba Joro, Yoncent Pass Vengkani, Gabriel Yavini and host of others.
