Kebbi Committee Expresses Satisfaction With Venues For National Qur’anic Recitation Completion
The Kebbi State main committee for National Qur’anic Recitation Competiton has expressed satisfaction with the venues and accommodation for the event.
The Emir of Argungu and Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Isma’il Muhammadu-Mera, disclosed this shortly after he led his members on an inspection tour of the venues in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
The committee members visited Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, proposed venue for recitation as well as Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp, venue for accommodation.
At the polytechnic, the committee members inspected 500-seat capacity auditorium, Mosque, a newly constructed twin theatre and convocation square, while at the Hajj camp, they inspected rooms for accommodation.
The Royal Father said: “The venues we have inspected at the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic in Birnin Kebbi will be sufficient enough to host all the events.
“All the facilities are new and large enough for the opening and closing ceremonies and also for the daily competition.”
He noted that the committee was also satisfied with what it saw at the Kauran Gwandu Hajj camp, adding that the place was large enough to accommodate all the competitors and their coordinators from all over Nigeria.
“As far as the committee is concerned, we are satisfied but the final decision will be taken tomorrow when the National Committee comes.
“They will also visit these recommended sites and tell us about their option but we are confident that they will also be okay with the venues,” the royal father assured.
The Emir was accompanied during the inspection tour by Chairman, Publicity Committee and Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK, Chairman, Accommodation Committee and Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Musa Tungulawa and Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki among others.
