Kebbi State Government Pledge Support As NHFSS Trains Personnel

The Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services (NHFSS) have concluded four days training for it’s personnel North West States in the Kebbi State capital, Birnin Kebbi.
During the course of the four days training, officers from the Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigerian Custom Services, The Nigerian Police force, Civil Defence, NDLEA, Red Cross and other sister Security took turns in training to the operatives of the NHFSS.
The Passing Out Parade of the personnel of the organisation was witnessed by the Commandant General, NHFSS, Amb. Dr. Osatimehin J. Wole, traditional rulers in the state and top government officials.
The Commandant General charged the graduation personnel be disciplined in to he course of discharging their duties,he futher urged them to respect comstiutued authorities such as the police, Army and Civil Defence .
Amb Wole also enumerated the successes of the NHFSS which include, rescuing a relative of traditional ruler from the hands of kidnappers, maintaining peace In a warring community in Bauchi.
The NHFSS thanked the Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency Nasiru Idris, for sponsoring over 400 men and women of the NHFSS, North West depertimental training in the state.
Speaking at the Passing Out Parade, Kebbi State, Commander, Musa Husain Rambo said that the four days training was an eye-opening event as the personnel of NHFSS who were lectured by the Red Cross, Customs, Immigration and Army officers now understand how how to cooperate with other security agencies in order to curb criminalities in the forest
“During the course of the training, we now understand what our duties entails, we also understand how to partner with sister agencies such as the customs, immigration and the Army when the occasion demands.
Husain Rambo also reiterated his call for funding from the State Government adding that, it is through individualistic efforts that NHFSS is being run.
“If we want to go and make arrest, we donate money, hire vehicles or motorcycles to our destination.
Furthermore, if one of us is injured, we gather money to get to see to his treatment.
“We need vehicles, motorcycle, computers, photocopying machines and even offices in all the Local Government Areas of Kebbi
“We are therefore calling on the Governor of the state to please come to our aid so that we do better”, he added
Responding, the Kebbi State Governor, Nasiru Idris, represented by the Director of Security Matters, Abdulrahaman Usman assured that all the requests of the NHFSS would be met as plans are already afoot to provide motorcycles, weapons and logistics needed by the organisation in matter of days.
The Governor, while commending the NHFSS for helping to restore peace and tranquility back to the state, noted that, for the first time In three months, Kebbi State have not recorded any form of bandit attack. To this end, Governor Nasiru Idris promised to expand the synergy between the state and security agencies.traditional rulers in the state for their support
