Murder Of Mojisola Awesu: Kwara Judge Remands Suspects In Prison

Ilorin —A Kwara State High Court presided over by Justice Ibrahim Yusuf has ordered the seven suspects linked to the murder of Mojisola Awesu, a student of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa to be remanded in Ilorin prison.
This followed the absence of the counsel to 5th, 6th and 7th defendants in the court.
Happiness Adebayo and Timileyin Kolawole, the defendants in the case were accused of conspiring and causing the death of Mojisola Awesu on August 9, 2024, at an hotel in Ilorin.
Recall that the victim, who resided in Offa was called by the defendants to attend a graduation party in the hotel during which she was reportedly murdered.
Happiness Adebayo and his parents Adebayo Adeniyi and Bukola Adeniyi were also accused of conspiring and causing disappearance and destruction of evidence punishable under the Penal Code Law of kwara State, 2006.
Adeoye Adeola, Lawal Aminat and Peter Bulus were accused of conspiring and dumping the corpse of Mojisola Awesu at a dump site on Wara road, Ilorin, an offence punishable under the Kwara State Prohibition of Dealing in Human Parts Law, 2018.
Counsel to the 1st and 4th defendants were not in the court the last time the case camet up for hearing on February 3.
Only the the prime defendants, Adebayo Happiness and Timileyin Kolawole were remanded in prison custody at the last date.
At the resumed hearing in the matter, yesterday, the absence of the counsel to the 5th, 6th and 7th defendants did not go down well with the judge, Justice Yusuf, who ordered that all the seven defendants be remanded in prison custody till March 4, 2025, the next adjourned date.
