Nigeria’s Public Service Gets Major Boost as ISMNC, Head of Service Collaborate
The Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria Chartered (ISMNC) has expressed readiness to partner with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
This partnership aims to provide strategic leadership training and capacity building for senior-level public servants.
President and Chairman, Governing Board of the Institute, Mr. Alex Ndudi Enebeli, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Didi Walson-Jack.
Enebeli said the Institute, founded in 2003 and chartered in 2023, is Africa’s premier institution dedicated to strategic development.
The Institute’s mission is to advance knowledge and skills in strategic management, leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Enebeli identified three key areas of collaboration: programme support, supporting the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025, and public service professionalization.
He emphasized that the collaboration will be mutually beneficial, strengthening both the Office of the Head of Civil Service and the broader public service.
Mrs. Walson-Jack expressed delight over the Institute’s mission, noting its alignment with her office’s goals.
She highlighted the importance of capability building and talent management.
The Head of Civil Service welcomed ISMNC’s offer of a short course on leading strategic change.
The Office is procuring an e-learning platform to expand its reach and accessibility.
A centre of excellence will be established to manage programs under pillar one of the Federal Civil Service Strategy.
ISMNC’s Registrar and CEO, Mr. Obitunde Obiyemi, accompanied Enebeli on the visit.
Other delegates included Dr. Jummai Umar-Ajijola, Chair, Board of Fellows, and Dr. Otive Igbuzor, past President.
Permanent Secretaries, directors, and top officials from the Office of the Head of Civil Service attended the meeting.
The partnership aims to enhance skills and knowledge of senior public servants.
By working together, ISMNC and the Office of the Head of Civil Service aim to drive positive change in Nigeria’s public service.
The collaboration is expected to yield significant benefits for the public service and the nation.
