Sultan Foundation Donates Free Drugs To 73 Health Facilities In Kebbi

The Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development, has donated medicines and medical supplies to 73 Health Facilities in Kebbi State for free dispensation to patients.

At the ceremony to hand over the drugs and other medical supplies in Birnin Kebbi this Thursday, a Director of the Foundation, Abdurrahman Liman said the drugs were procured by MAP International, an American NGO, and distributed by the Sultan Foundation.

“Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development paid for logistics and transportation cost for onward distribution to primary healthcare centres and hospitals in Kebbi”,

” More consignments are on the way, we shall sustain support to healthcare delivery by facilitating easy access to services to improve the health indices of Kebbi”,

“We are thanking the Federal Government for giving waiver on the transportation of the drugs including customs duty, as well as NAFDAC for facilitating shipping of the consignment to Nigeria”,

“The Sultan Foundation is out to serve humanity”, he said.

The Commissioner for Health, Yunusa Musa Isma’il, thanked the donors for partnering with Kebbi State Government to enhance healthcare delivery services by donating free drugs and supplies to hospitals in the state.

“A major priority of the incumbent administration of Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris is the development of the health sector, which is ongoing in earnest”,

“We are grateful to the Sultan Foundation for this kind gesture, the items would be judiciously utilized”, the Commissioner remarked.

The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, represented by the Kunduda of Kabi, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Kwaido, expressed appreciation for the provision of the medicines and medical supplies by the Sultan Foundation.

He affirmed that traditional rulers would continue to work towards uplifting the health status of the people.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, and the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Alhaji Hayatu Bawa Jega, described the gesture as in line with the policy thrust of the Kauran Gwandu administration of providing free and accessible healthcare services to communities in Kebbi.
