The United People’s Progressive Parties for Ododo (UPPP) has congratulated Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his tribunal victory, affirming his election win. The State Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja upheld Ododo’s victory, dismissing the petition of Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party for lack of substantial evidence.

The UPPP Chairman Mallam Bala Abdulghafar Dirisu described the victory as a welcome development, thanking party members, supporters, and the people of Kogi State for their support during the legal process. Dirisu also commended the judiciary for its professionalism and commitment to strengthening democracy.

The tribunal’s decision solidifies the popular mandate given to Ododo and the APC by the Kogi electorate. The UPPP urged the opposition to accept the verdict and support the governor in his development policies and projects for the state’s progress. This victory marks a significant milestone in Kogi State’s political landscape, demonstrating the people’s confidence in Ododo’s leadership. The UPPP looks forward to continued good governance and development under his administration.

Mallam Dirisu further urged Governor Ododo to remember to carry officials and members of the UPPP who worked assiduously to ensure that the governor emerged victorious during the Kogi gubernatorial polls. “May I urge the Governor to remember to work with men and women of the UPPP who left their parties and formed a grand alliance to ensure that he was elected. It would be wonderful if Governor welcomes the UPPP and works with them.

On the appointment of Senior Special Advisers and Special Advisers by the Governor, the UPPP boss, while congratulating the appointees, tasked them to see their appointments as a call to serve. “We encourage the appointees to use their positions to serve the people of Kogi State and justify the confidence reposed in them by the Governor. Let us work together to build a better Kogi State for all.”

In addition, Mallam Dirisu called on Governor Ododo to prioritize the welfare of the people, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. “We urge the Governor to continue his good work and ensure that the dividends of democracy are extended to all corners of the state. The UPPP is committed to supporting the Governor in his development agenda and working towards a better future for all Kogi people.”
