Troops Slain 12 Terrorists In Zamfara
The troops under the joint task force of Operation Hadarin Daji have again neutralised 12 terrorists, recovered weapons, and some cows in Zamfara State during an operation.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the troops, Lieutenant Suleiman Omale, said the success was recorded on Friday in the Dansadau forest of the Maru Local Government Area of the state.
He said in the early hours of Friday, the troops successfully dominated Babban Doka, Gobirawar Challi, and Kabaro axis under the Maru Local Government Area of the state, engaging the terrorists in a heavy gun duel.
Omale maintained that during the operation, the troops overpowered the criminal elements and neutralised 12 terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
The troops have also recovered significant weapons and assets from the scene, including an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a locally made gun, a Dane gun, and 18 cows.
The statement reads in parts, “The Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) continued its offensive operations against Violent Extremist with a view to restoring normalcy in the region.
“In the early hours of Friday, April 12th, 2024, the troops successfully dominated Babban Doka, Gobirawar Challi, and Kabaro axis under Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, engaging the terrorists in a heavy gun duel.
“During the operation, our brave troops from Dansadau Forward Operating Base exhibited exceptional courage, overpowering the criminal elements and neutralising 12 terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
“In a subsequent mop-up patrol, the gallant troops recovered significant weapons and assets from the scene, including an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a locally made gun, a Dane gun, and 18 cows. Additionally, 10 motorcycles belonging to the terrorists were recovered and destroyed on the spot,” the statement added.
