ZMSG TRAIN 50 NURSES, MIDWIVES ON MATERNAL ON CHILD MORTALITY

The Zamfara state government in partnership with Non governmental organization; Health for Life and Development Foundation (HELDF) have organised a five days work shop for fifty Nurses and Midwives on Maternal and Child Mortality Prevention in the state.
The training whichs supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA),with themed; Direct and indirect Causes of Preventable Maternal Death, which recently held at Nigeria Medical Association state Secretariat in Gusau.
The Executive Director Health for Life and Development Foundation (HELDEF), Doctor Abubakar Danladi, said the essence of the workshop is to train health providers in the state, particularly
Nurses and Midwives across the fourteen local government areas in the state.
” the aims of the workshop is to improve their capacity in prevention the high rate of maternal death, as well as to builds their capacity and management of common causes of maternal and child mortality in the state and a country at Large.”
According to the Obstetrician Gynaecologist Consultant, finding shown that Nigeria have account of 14% of the world maternal death, which is quite worth, and 70% of the Nation were accounted in the northern states.
“because of that high rates that made the government desire to trains front line health workers in order to build in preventable causes of maternal death.”
Dr Danladi however noted that, the training is targeted two approach; to trained and tasked those have trained should also train back to those don’t have preveillege to attend the workshop.
The assistant representative of Health productive specialist of UNFPA,Dr Audi Alayande, commended the participants commitment and dedication shown during the five days training.
He further tasked them impacts the knowledge have acquired in improving their experience while overcomes with with clients that’s pertaining the maternal case’s in in their respective working places.
“the aims of our organization is accelerating Reduction; Ummet need for family planning, preventable maternal death, Gender based violence and Harmful practice.”
One if the facilitator’s, Dr Hadiza Kanoma, said “we are training the Nurses and Midwives to know the basic things and what can do to serve the life before attending a Doctor.
She jowever outlined the disease affecting maternal; postpartum, eclampsia,ruptured uterus,sepsis anemia, and malaria among others.
Also speaking with facilitator, Inno Umar Ruwan Doruwa,said all the participants were workers of the various maternity units i n different hospital in the state, gathered here for refreshing their minds in order to reduce maternal death.

The participants, Madina Salihu from general hospital Shinkafi and Mfon Etim Nyong from Gumi general hospital, gave shown their happiness over the training, it quiet increased their talents.
They further called on the state government to sustained organising such training that would improved and advanced their capacity as front line health workers for effective health deliberation in the the state.
