Rep to FG: Establish A Supportive Environment For Herbal Medicine Practitioners
Member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency in the House of Reps, Bar. Okay-Joe Onuakalusi, has called on the federal government to establish an enabling environment for herbal medicine practitioners in the country.
He made the call while speaking at the official unveiling of Go Wellness Worldwide in Lagos at the weekend.
According to him, the federal government should partner with herbal medicine manufacturers across the country.
He said: The government needs to create an enabling environment so herbal medicine practitioners could thrive and flourish.
“I appeal to the government to provide an enabling environment to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit of herbal practitioners to enable them produce more research work that will help reduce chronic diseases.
“With the current economic situation, with a dollar almost N2, 000, exportation of certified and approved herbal medicine will generate revenue for the country.”
Onuakalusi also commended the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative instinct of Dr. Onyemachi Robert Izu in putting herbs, roots, plants and stems together to produce Ruzu, and taking a great leap to unveil what he called the most organised and prosperous Network Marketing Company in Africa in the name of Go-Wellness world-wide.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Onyemaechi Robert Uzu said: “The Initiative emanated from the vision of Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Limited, a leading name in the manufacturing of effective herbal products in Africa.
”The company has grown organically to become a leading name in this industry. Our factory is equipped with state-of-the-art machines for processing all our herbal products strictly under hygienic specifications.”l
“From a mono herbal product to a range of herbal products, we currently have 47 products. The factory is certified by the International Standard Organization, ISO, and most of its products have been certified by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC.
”We have been certified also by the United States and Drug Administration, USFDA, which we have successfully renewed for the past four years.”
