Barcelona is unwilling to release their promising attacker Pedri this season, according to report in Mundo Deportivo.

The display of the 17-year-old attacker in the friendly against Gimnastic captured the attention of manager Ronald Koeman.

Pedri joined Barcelona in a deal worth €5m last summer and he performed exceptionally well in the clash against Gimnastic.

He paved way for Ousmane Dembele’s goal in the 3-1 win, Koeman was impressed about the youngster after the pre-season friendly “Pedri is a great talent, he is 17 years old and he has shown that he can play. We will see how much you can participate.”

Pedri is one of the biggest talents in the Barcelona team and what he offers is quite different and he can be a game-changer for the Blaugrana.

Koeman is expected to offer some playing opportunities to the youngster despite having the likes of Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Dembele as well as fellow starlets Ansu Fati and Francisco Trincao ahead of him in the pecking order.
