Gov Idris Visits College of Nursing Sciences, Promises To Provide Vehicle, Furniture, Others

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu has assured the management of College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi of his readiness to provide a vehicle, furniture and ICT equipment to the institution .

Governor Nasir Idris made the pledge when he paid an unscheduled visit to the institution this Thursday.

He said the visit was part of his routine exercise to Schools, Ministries, Boards and Parastatals to assess their condition with a view to addressing some of the challenges.

The governor, while commending the management and Board of the institution for their courage in making sure that the school remains one of the best ten in the country in spite of challenges.

‘ As a teacher and labour leader, I know some of the problems of schools and workers.

‘ Because of our yearnings and aspirations for better education, the problem of ICT of the school will be addressed ‘, he assured.

The governor also directed the Provost to forward other needs of the school for his attention.

Earlier, the Provost of the school, Muhammad Murtala Musa, while appreciating the visit by the Governor, enumerated some of the challenges being faced by the school established about 21 years ago.

According to the Provost, the college lacks an ICT center, adequate furniture and enough accommodation for the students.

Musa also raised the issue of the need for a change of salary structure to reflect its present status as well as a vehicle for the smooth transportation of students to research activities.
