Two men, Wisdom Ikechukwu, and Emmanuel Victor  were on Thursday arraigned before a Lagos State High Court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square for alleged armed robbery.

The defendants are facing four counts of conspiracy, robbery and armed robbery.

The prosecuting counsel, Olayemi Shofolu, told the court that the defendants and others who are still at large conspired to commit the alleged offence.

He said the incident took place on January 8, 2022, around 4.30am around Maza Maza Bus Stop, FESTAC Town, Lagos.

Shofolu told the court that the defendants, while armed with cutlasses, guns, knives and other weapons, robbed one Christiana Opoku of her iPhone 7, Infinix Hot 10, power bank and Samsung 411 valued at N287,000 and cash of N5,000.

He said the defendants also robbed one Ndubusi Okeke of his Nokia phone valued at N5,500 and cash of N700.

The prosecutor further alleged that the defendants, on the same day, robbed one Benjamin Ofozor of his Infinix Hot 10 and Samsung phone valued at N200,000.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.

Justice Yetunde Adesanya adjourned the case till November 6.
